Foreign Language Tutoring

Our foreign language tutors provide tutoring to current GWU students in the majority of the foreign languages taught in the university during the regular academic year (September through May). The service is free of charge and is offered at the Language Center Resource Lab (Phillips 210B) on a walk-in basis.

EAP Writing Support Program

The EAP Writing Support Program offers a free, one-on-one, service for current GWU students with non-English backgrounds at the Language Center, Phillips Hall 210B during regular semesters. Our tutors are available during any stage of the writing process to work on audience, brainstorming, citation, drafting, evidence, grammar, organization and flow, outlining, paragraphing, revision, thesis, and tone. In addition, they are trained to provide focused support for non-native speakers.

EAP Conversation Support Program

The EAP Conversation Support Program offers free, small-group (one tutor and four students) conversation sessions for current GWU students with non-English backgrounds at the Language Center, Phillips Hall 216 during regular semesters. Our tutors are available to assist students with their formal and informal English conversation skills. In addition, they are trained to provide focused support for non-native speakers.

EAP Writing Support Online Chat Program

The EAP Writing Support Online Chat Program offers a free, one-on-one online chat service for current GWU students with non-English backgrounds. Our tutors are available are only available to assist students with short syntax and grammar questions. If students have more in depth questions, such as brainstorming, citation, drafting, evidence, grammar, organization and flow, outlining, paragraphing, revision, thesis, and tone, they should make a reservation for the Writing Support Program. In addition they are trained to provide focused support for non-native speakers.
