ITALIAN

Have you ever wanted to read Dante’s Inferno in the original Italian, examine the origins of the Mediterranean Diet, or discuss the cinema of great directors from Federico Fellini to Paolo Sorrentino? You can do so while earning a minor in Italian Language, Literature, and Culture from the Romance, German and Slavic Languages and Literatures Department. In GW’s Italian Program, students learn to speak, read, and write proficiently through a language core, and delve into Italian literature and culture through a variety of elective classes.

Alumni of the Italian program have applied their skills to successful careers in international relations and diplomacy, domestic and international law, international business, politics, academics, arts, and medicine.
