The GW Language for Professionals Program offers students the chance to develop their professional language abilities in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.

Through a series of online tutorial modules, students will be exposed to new vocabulary, advanced grammar, and proper syntax designed for a professional setting. The self-learning modules provide the unique opportunity to listen to native-speaking experts, and to practice self-guided exercises tailored for the workplace.

If you have any technical issues or questions, please contact the GW Language Center at [email protected]

About the Program

Mission

This project is supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Title VI Program. One of the Title VI program’s missions is to support foreign language education in U.S. colleges and universities in order to ensure a steady supply of graduates with expertise in less commonly taught languages (LCTLs). The tutorial modules are owned and managed by the GW Language Center.

Target for this program: The Korean tutorial modules will be good self-study tools for learners of Korean who are at intermediate-high to advanced level.

Goals

The Self-Learning Module Project aims to support students to develop their advanced level language skills. Students will have an opportunity to hear native speakers discussing various topics, to learn appropriate language usages in a formal setting and to study more advanced vocabularies and expressions. The topics discussed in the clips will enable students to advance their general language skills. More specifically, students will improve their listening skills and increase their understanding of different cultures and perspectives. This project currently aims to provide learners a chance to broaden their horizons in their journey of learning Korean.
